Week 10 was a bit of a mixed bag. After my long run last Sunday, and interval later on I developped a calf injury which I had to nurse. I managed to get most of my swims and biking in but had to cut out a tempo run to let the calf heal. The swims are not going that great either because of sore shoulders and therefore my time trial for my 700M was slow. Yuk! I have to sign up for a spring sprint soon and will have to put down a real slow estimated swim time. Oh well.....C'est la vie! I think I will just do slower technique swims from now concentrating on endurance and hope everything will turn out better once I start swimming in the lake. I am not too much concerned with this part of training anyway as most people in my age group are not that great swimmers themselves which evens out the field. Since it is just a small part of any triathlons, I hope to make up the time on the bike and run.
This past weekend turned out pretty well with weather and such and had another great ride of 78k followed by an even better run Sunday. This time the distance was reduced to start tapering for my half marathon next weekend. But now another milestone has just cropped up and between courses I have to attend, work and now having to help family members move, it will definitely interfere with planned workouts. But I guess we just carry on and do the best of a bad situation and hope for a good outcome. Sometimes the stars just do not line up the way you expect.
